Tuesday

A great night’s sleep – YEAH! After some initial bike maintenance, tire pumping, and a marginal breakfast at 7-11, we got on the road about 8:30am. Our plan was to bike about 60km from Ranong to Kapoe, about half yesterday’s distance. Starting a bit later is definitely warmer – early starts are best. The road continued to be nice – wide shoulders, not many climbs at all, a bit more traffic, but still lots of waving and shouting. About halfway, we found a very popular open-air roadside café where we feasted on curries and noodles with a huge plate of fresh herbs and other garnishes. The food is getting spicier. After a brief detour to see a waterfall, we rolled into Kapoe at about 12:30pm, found a very nice place to stay, and freshened up a bit. Our meals are running between $1-2 each and our rooms have been about $10 each.
